COVID-19 Church Update

I hope this note finds you doing well! The leadership at BCF has been closely following our government’s response to COVID-19, and prayerfully considering our own response as a church.

The Governor’s mandate to wear masks in public presents us with interesting challenges, to say the least. We as Christian citizens do not always agree with our leaders, and there may well be times we need to make the choice to disobey, in order to obey God. As it is written, “We must obey God rather than human beings!” (Acts 5:29, NIV).

We also know that good people may have differing opinions about the events of our world, their implications, and our own responsibilities with regard to them. We at BCF desire to operate in responsibility to and under the overarching principle of love. This is our great ambition and joy! If we have learned anything during this challenging season, we have learned that this certainly carries with it a cost. To continue to be subject to our earthly authorities, as the scripture directs us, is also costly.
Though this obedience certainly has its limits, I do not believe we have reached that point yet.

As a result, I will be following the Governor’s mandate and will wear a mask at church whenever I am not on-stage ministering. I personally do not like it, and find it very inconvenient. But as Peter writes, by The Holy Spirit, “Submit yourselves for The Lord’s sake to every human authority: whether to the emperor, as the supreme authority, or to governors, who are sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to commend those who do right.” For it is God’s will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish people” (1 Peter 2:13-15, NIV).

As Christians, we do not attempt to control people, nor their personal decisions. We will have masks available at the main doors for anyone who needs one, and will strive to maintain the health and safety protocols that we have already implemented.

I am fully aware that there are strong opinions on all sides of this issue. Whatever my personal opinions concerning The Governor’s recent mandate, it is clearly a disputable matter. I encourage you to remember the scripture that teaches us to accept each other without passing judgment on disputable matters (Romans 14:1). My deep desire is that we as a church continue in unity and love through this challenging season.

If anyone does not feel comfortable attending our live services because of any COVID 19 related issues, please join us for the online experience through our website and other digital venues. We urge you to stay connected to your church, especially now, as we continue to pray and believe for better days ahead.

We both love you all very much,

-PBO & Shannon

Get Connected, Be Invested

As you pull into our parking lot off of County Road 201, you are facing the west side of our building which is the location of our office entrance. Under the overhang to the south is our main entrance through the double glass doors. This entrance will lead you directly into our foyer. Our friendly welcome ministry will greet you as you enter and can help you find your way around (like where the nearest coffee is!)

From 9:00 – 9:45 we have Sunday School classes located in several areas throughout the church depending on our current curriculum. Please ask a greeter, usher or check at the Welcome Center in the foyer for assistance. We will get you connected!

We have child care and children’s programs for kids from nursery age to 5th grade on Sunday mornings. During the Sunday School hour the kids have their own classes divided by age groups. The nursery and toddler rooms are open from the beginning of the main service starting at 10:00. The rest of the children join us for worship until just before the message (around 10:45) when we dismiss the children for Kingdom Kids. If you need help checking in your children we can assist you at the Welcome Center in the foyer.

Thank you for taking the time to visit us! We hope to have the chance to know you better. BCF is a growing church with deep roots. Here you’ll find a place of vibrant worship, compelling messages and real community in an environment where you can personally experience God. We hope you’ll be our guest and become family.
BCF is a non-denominational church founded in 1962 in the middle of Ohio Amish country. We were founded in an environment of spiritual awakening as people from our community came together with a hunger to know and live the truth of scripture. From our first days until now God has been developing in us a message of his kingdom that is transforming the world.

BCF is a family expecting guests. We take time each Sunday to welcome our guests and invite you to fill out a guest card which you can find attached at the bottom of our weekly handout. We like to bless people, so please let us know if you have any prayer needs. Also, stop by our Welcome Center after service for a special gift and thank you for being our guest!

We begin every Sunday with praise & worship, starting shortly before 10:00 in the sanctuary. This generally lasts 30 – 40 min. You can expect to find expressive worship and something a little different each Sunday as we seek the leadership of the Holy Spirit. It is normal for us to clap our hands, to dance, to sing and raise our hands to the Lord, and for our children to dance with fabrics. Occasionally we have a time of ministry and prayer, or someone from our prayer or prophetic teams might have something to share with the congregation.

After worship we take a few moments to highlight things happening in the lives of our congregation, pray for current needs, and then receive tithes and offerings. This is simply done by the ushers passing buckets down each row of seats, during which time there will often be a special presentation.

We will release our parents to bring their children to their classes and for people to greet each other from the front. After a short break we bring people back with weekly video announcements.

It’s always exciting to get into the scripture and discover what the Lord has for us each week. You can follow along with the message on the screen. We close every service with prayer and often have times where we invite people to come to the front for special prayer and ministry.

We believe there is one God eternally manifested in the persons of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe the bible to be the inspired, infallible, inerrant, authoritative Word of God.
We believe in the virgin birth of Jesus Christ, in His vicarious and atoning sacrifice through His shed blood, in His resurrection, and in His personal return in power and glory upon the earth.
We believe conversion and transformation through faith in Jesus Christ is absolutely essential for the salvation of lost and sinful humanity.
We believe in water baptism as a profession of faith.
We believe the gospel includes, through God’s power, holiness of heart and life, healing of the body, and a definite experience with the Holy Spirit whereby the gifts of the Spirit become active in the life of the believer.
We believe in God’s kingdom on the earth today and in it’s complete restoration at the end times
We believe in the bodily resurrection of all people at the end times: the just unto eternal life and the unjust unto eternal damnation.
We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord, Jesus Christ.
